Although the weather forecast wasn\u2019t really optimistic we were very satisfied with the good winds and random sunny weather (and after some raindrops you enjoy the sun even more). After checking in at Vilamoura we sailed right away to Portim\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"288\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 512 \/ 288;\" width=\"512\" controls src=\"https:\/\/cruisingkabaal.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/cruisingmacro2.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">In  Portim\u00e3o we had dinner in a very relaxed Portuguese-Angolan restaurant \u2018Safari\u2019, claimed to be the oldest restaurant in town. \u201cBanana Ceviche\u201d and some delicious Alvarinho wines. Next day we sailed further west to Lagos, some very strong winds were expected.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">So we stayed there two days, waiting for the front to pass. Lagos is a very nice town, cosy streets, nice little coffee shops, not too much touristic. On day 2 we had the strong winds and we went for a walk along the rugged coast and watched the huge waves.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Good decision to stay for a day\ud83d\ude09. We played the game of trying each time to run through the openings in the rocks to the next beach. With the rising water and the waves I guess you can imagine what happened\u2026. Next day a walk along the shore and coffee in the older town close to the beaches. At the entrance of the inshore waters there was a strong current, we saw 11 kts SOG. Olh\u00e3o was very nice, we had dinner in Chachacha together with the parents of Aleid, Karel and Marijke.
